Ed

I was born on January 27, 1947, the same year as the transistor was invented. I share the same birth date as Mozart. I love sailing, music, and walking in the woods. I try to work out or run five days a week or at least do some exercise. In my younger days, I rode a motorcycle across the country and later up to Alaska.

Dorothy and I traveled around the world together, lived in Kirksville,  Missouri and then in The Hague in  Holland. Ironically, we returned to Connecticut where I grew up and where we met. I started my business, Micro Services Group, in 1988 and do computer training, repair and systems work for a variety of customers.

Dorothy

Dorothy is my wife. She grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went to Penn State for her undergraduate work and remains a loyal Nittany Lion fan. She completed her doctorate at the University of Connecticut. She is a dean Education, Nursing, and Health Professions at the University of Hartford. She was an education professor at St. Joseph College and is on a two year leave. Dorothy is the futurist of the family and deserves credit for starting my career in computers. She purchased a TRS 80 Model I with 4K of RAM and a cassette tape for storage. She creates superb PowerPoint presentations and uses the Internet extensively for research for her courses.

Celebrating our 25th anniversary.

Read The Tramps, a poem which we read as we traveled down the Yukon River on our trip around the world. We have come a long way since we "tramped God's land together..."

Raisin

Raisin, the black lab, is our family pet. She was 14 years old when she passed away. She was a faithful companion. Raisin moved out of puppyhood at age five. She demanded little other than an early morning walk followed by two dog biscuits, some people food after every meal, lots of petting, a meal (preferably a mixture of Mighty Dog and Gravy Train) served promptly at 5:00, and more petting and attention. She was a happy and spoiled dog. Raisin was a wonderful friend and companion. We miss her.

Our house.

Dorothy has two sisters - Marilyn and Janet. Marilyn is married to Richard and they live in Massachusetts north of Boston. She has two adult children Dayna and Dexter.

Dorothy's mother lives close about a half mile away from us in an apartment for self-sufficient retired people. She is in very good health. We just celebrated her 92th birthday on April 26.

My mother lives near my sister, Carole, in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is not in good health and moved into a nursing home in 2000. She is lucky to have Carole, her husband and two granddaughters living in the same city.

Lori, Dorothy, and I  visited Rome, Florence, and Capri, Italy in March. Here are a few favorite pictures from that trip. We had a good time.
